Three Sisters, One Scouting Family
Meet the Norris girls – A, E, and L – three sisters from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, who are proving that faith, fitness, and Scouting make a powerful combination.
The girls are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attend the Murfreesboro 1st Ward. All three got their start in Scouting with Pack 2019, chartered by Trinity United Methodist Church, and together they completed their Saints In Scouting Light & Truth Award – a meaningful milestone that reflects both their Scouting commitment and their faith.

And these girls don’t do anything halfway. As a family, they’ve lent their time and energy to multiple Eagle Scout service projects and local community events. Setting goals – and actually achieving them – is just part of how they’re wired.

Take E, who trained, qualified, and competed at the DEKA World Championships in Ocala, Florida, placing 7th in the world for her age group. Her younger sister L made the trip to Worlds too, and came home not only with a strong finish but with new friends from England. Meanwhile, A channeled her focus into mastering a musical number on the violin.

Now the older two are writing new chapters. A has crossed over to Troop 2019 (also chartered by Trinity United Methodist Church), attended summer camp at Boxwell Scout Reservation near Nashville, and earned her Archery Merit Badge. E has since crossed over as well and has her sights set high – she’s aiming for Eagle Scout, and says she wants to earn more Eagle Palms than her dad, who earned four. We like her odds.

As A and E push forward toward the Saints In Scouting Duty to God Award, youngest sister L is gearing up for what promises to be an exciting Arrow of Light year.
The Norris family is what Scouting looks like when it takes root in a family – and these three daughters are just getting started.
