More from the National Scout Jamboree

There’s NOWHERE we’d rather be this week than shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of Scouts and Scouters, teaching, learning, testifying, and building the kind of memories that shape a lifetime of service.

The Saints in Scouting staff have been BUSY helping all Scouts & Scouters earn their “Be A Light” award and answer questions about the Church and the Gospel. We’ve encountered some special young women and men over the last several days.

The Genealogy Merit Badge and Family Life Merit Badge exhibits have been busy with Scouts seeking to fulfill merit badge requirements during the Jamboree. On average, we have about 40-50 Genealogy merit badge completions each day. For both merit badge exhibits, we have hundreds of requirement completions each day as Scouts take a little break from the heat to explore these topics.

We also had a truly unique experience at the Jamboree, while dedicating the Lyle & Toril Knight Family Great Hall & Terrace. This beautiful hallway connects two other significant leadership training facilities – both donated by Latter-day Saints: J.W. Marriott, Jr. and the Gene H. Yamagata Auditorium. The dedication brought together six of the Saints In Scouting Board of Directors, in person! What a wonderful opportunity to reaffirm a commitment to supporting Latter-day Saint Scouting across the globe.

3 more days to go!
