Sunday Service at the National Jamboree
We had a wonderful Sunday service with over 200 Latter-day Saint Scouts, Scouters, and friends.
The service was very different from what was originally planned. For some technical reason, none of the a/v features of that Jamboree stage were working when we began the meeting. Demonstrating a Scout’s ability to be resilient and to pivot when needed, we moved all participants closer to the congregation and held a more intimate meeting that morning.
With no musical accompaniment, a “pop-up” choir was formed on the spot, and the group sang “I Stand All Amazed” to the delight of the audience.

Two Scouts (Evan A. & Jenna H.) bore their testimonies of the Savior to the listening audience.

Neal Robison spoke passionately about the values enumerated in the Scout Law and explored stories about 4 people from the Book of Mormon who exemplified them.

Charles Dahlquist spoke about 3 key things in life: 1) Developing the God-given talents and skills we each have, 2) Serving others, and 3) Becoming who the Lord needs you to become.

While the meeting wasn’t quite what we expected, it was a beautifully spiritual experience that the congregation will never forget.
