2026 National Scout Jamboree: Day 1

What a DAY! We just finished our first full day at the 2026 National Jamboree.

In the Saints In Scouting exhibit, we offered all Jamboree participants the opportunity to earn the “Be A Light Award” (see this blog post for more information on that award). We were lucky enough to have Elders Thomson & Doyle from the West Virginia Charleston Mission helping folks earn their awards throughout the day.

Outside our main exhibit, Brother Gary Dollar was continuing his tradition of offering bolo ties to Scouts after they recommit to the Scout Oath and Law. The Scouts received much more than just a bolo tie – they left with a deeper understanding of their Duty to God and country.

Over in the Genealogy Merit Badge exhibit, we had several hundred requirements completed for the merit badge, and several Scouts who finished the whole badge in one day!

In the Family Life Merit Badge exhibit, we had an enterprising Scout bring her previously-complete requirements and finish the Family Life merit badge right there at the Jamboree!

Such great conversations with Scouts from across the country!
